While tractor trailers are pretty flexible with their schedules and delivery times a train is set on a stricter schedule and routes and can rarely be adjusted, so with truck transportation you have more flexibility and give whereas with train transportation you have to take the schedule given to you basically. There are pros and cons to both forms of transportation as well as varying costs associated with each, the best thing to do it figure out what your budget is for transporting goods and then go from there to see which form would best fit into your budget.
